Welcome Pilgrims, Tourists, Students and Friends

2010 is a special year in Santiago de Compostela, the political and cultural capital of Galicia celebrates its second Xacobeo (Jubilee) or Holy Year in the 21st century and the last one in the decade.  Next Holy Year won't happen until July 25th - the day of the city's patron (Santiago Apostol) - falls on a Sunday. This event will happen again 11 years from now, in 2021.

I intend to share my experience as a foreign resident in Santiago de Compostela during Holy Year.  I hope to provide pilgrims and tourists who visit the city during the Jubilee with helpful information on places to stay and eat, reviews of heritage sites, museums, cultural events and nightlife, as well as commenting my own view on local customs, traditions and folklore.

Welcome and enjoy!
